The Perioperative Services Business Manager role is an exciting opportunity to play a vital part in the financial success of our Perioperative service line. Unlike the operational focus of a nurse manager, this position dives into the fascinating world of financial management, ensuring our ORs and procedural areas run efficiently and effectively. In this role, you'll provide valuable business support for assigned departments. This includes engaging in monthly financial analyses and reporting with our finance team, creating and interpreting specific service line reports, and evaluating ROI on capital investments. You'll also play a key role in forecasting volumes and finances, preparing annual budgets, conducting value analyses, and reviewing charges, capital equipment and contract management. Familiarity with preference cards, block utilization, and surgical procedures will be beneficial as you analyze the costs of supplies. As a trusted partner to the Executive Director and Perioperative Nurse Managers, your insights will be essential in helping to develop strategy and growth initiatives for the Perioperative service line at Kootenai Health.

Your responsibilities:
• Monitor expenses and facilitates compliance with budget in each department within the service line
• Independently analyzes productivity and financial stewardship of services offered within assigned service line and presents opportunities for financial and efficiency improvements
• In coordination with Executive Director and finance, supports and facilitates the creation of the annual operating and capital budget for each department
• Support service line leadership in decision making, new business models, contracting and budgeting
• Prepare regular program analysis and status reports for the Executive Director
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s in Business Administration required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in business management or healthcare finance required
• Microsoft Office proficient; advanced skills in Excel
Working Conditions
• Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs
• Must be able to maintain a sitting position
• Typical equipment used in an office job
