As needed partners with nursing leader/s to assure environment is conducive to excellence in nursing practice. This includes supervision of personnel and projects as delegated, including but not limited to hiring, discipline and performance evaluations. Supervises staff within perioperative services: Interviews and selects qualified employees to fill vacancies and build a team. Supports orientation of new employees to role, department and organization. Provides a welcoming and supportive environment. Establishes effective relationships with staff, which promotes and improves employee engagement. Clarifies expectations. Provides feedback and coaching. Uses corrective action when necessary. Assists with development and completion of annual staff competencies, monitoring compliance and takes action for non-compliance. Understands and follows human resource policies and practices. As needed, partners with accountable nursing leader/s to assure nursing practice needs are addressed.
