Position Summary\:
The Permanent Charge Nurse is a Registered Nurse who, under the direction/supervision of the Department Director/Manager, is responsible for assistance with unit and patient care coordination. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the patient care functions and activities in the Department, implementing policies/standards and procedures, and providing for the day to day supervision of the department’s patient care and staffing needs. This person acts as a resource to discuss unit needs, patient care concerns and problem solving, and assists in planning care implementation to ensure quality service.
Primary (Essential) Duties\: (In Addition to Clinical Practice RN Position Description Duties)
Performs all duties of Charge NurseAssists with and contributes to direct patient care.Provides assistance to the Department Director with unit management and other issues as delegated by the Department Director, including but not limited to\:Assisting with department schedules and/or timekeepingEvent/occurrence investigation and follow upConducting evaluation of staff performance and/or competencies as delegated by department Director/ManagerParticipates in development and implementation of standards, policies and procedures to nursing personnel.The above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified andshall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.Scion Health considers a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude to be an essential function of every position.
