*D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for a*_Permit Manager_*. The right candidate will oversee all aspects of permits, plan packages and architecture.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Coordinate the timely preparation and submission of individual lot building permits
* Coordinate all permit submittals
* Plan preparation
* Facilitate communication with architects
* Develop department overhead budget
* Interface with all municipal governing bodies, public utilities and industry associations
* Oversee the field operation and production times that the homes are ready for homeowner orientations and occupancy
* Set build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build times
* Review vendor surveys each month before they are sent out
* Visit job sites periodically and enforce policies
* Develop professional relationships within local government offices
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
* Ability to travel overnight

*Supervisory Responsibilities*
* Supervises 2 or more employees
*Education and/or Experience*
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Three to five years related experience and/or training
* Must have a vehicle, a valid driver’s license
* General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes
* Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to balance competing deadlines
* Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to communicate and work with all levels of management and personnel
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email
* Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
* The noise level is generally moderate

*Preferred Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university a plus
* Experience working in JD Edwards a plus
