Job Summary:
This position is responsible for day-to-day care of residents which include activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), light housekeeping, and assisting residents with medication abiding to Personal Care Regulations and will perform other duties as required.
Essential Responsibilities:
Administer medications to residents according to the prescribed dosage and schedule. This includes oral medications, topical creams, eye drops, and other forms of medication. monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects to medications and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. This involves observing residents for changes in vital signs, behavior, or symptoms that may indicate a negative reaction to medication. Responsible for storing medications securely and ensuring that they are properly labeled and stored according to regulations and community policies. This includes monitoring medication expiration dates and disposing of expired or unused medications appropriately. Communicate status of residents to incoming staff Respond to resident emergencies, and determine appropriate interventions based on Personal Care policies and procedures. Accurately documenting observations and incidents in Point Click Care (PCC) Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interacting with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment. Follow standardized infection control practices to prevent the spread of infection Provides for orientation of newly admitted residents Demonstrates attentiveness to resident and/or family concerns and assists in directing them to the appropriate party; Communicates courteously and effectively with all parties. QualificationsQualifications include:
One Year Experience as a Personal Care Aide
Education:
High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification:
Medication administration certificate issued by DHS; Diabetes Education Certificate
