Job Summary:
To assist the agency in growing the Personal Lines book of business by maximizing the Southwest Platform processes and applying your knowledge on a daily basis. To focus on providing world class customer service while being sales minded and watching for opportunities in the current book to round out accounts as well creating a book of business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Computer documentation of every service telephone call
Transactionally file designated mail, and process incoming mail daily
Determine reasons for cancellations, act to save accounts
Stay current and understand company underwriting guidelines and rules for all carriers
Participate in providing new business quotations to sales calls (overflow)
Provide weekly new business production reports
Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for account review
Perform renewal activities as necessary
Verifying policy and policy change information
Actively solicit increases in coverage or rounding out accounts through sales to clients at every service contact
Assist “walk-in” personal clients in the appropriate manner
Provide aid on insurance claims where there are communication problems or misunderstandings between the carrier/adjuster and our policyholder
Anticipate future needs, and call on established clients to renew and upgrade accounts
Develop long-term business relationships with clients and underwriters
Accept and review new business applications from agents and “sign off” in agent’s presence
Working together as a team to support the Sales Department to allow for maximum opportunity of revenue generation
Maintain a positive attitude providing a pleasant place to work and increased productivity

Education and Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Have knowledge of Applied EPIC (Agency Management System), Microsoft Word, and Outlook
Must be able to use and understand FSC rater
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
Maintain a valid Fire and Casualty license or Personal Lines Broker/Agent license issued by the state of California, Department of Insurance with the assistance of MIS

Pay Details:
