The Pet Services Associate is part of a team promoting healing experiences for our grieving Pet families. The Associate will work closely with other team members, departments, and clients to ensure procedures, policies, ongoing office support and exemplary customer satisfaction are achieved. This position requires a hardworking and energetic individual that is passionate for pets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assists families with choosing services for the pet’s aftercare, including urn selection, personalized merchandise and keepsake itemsFills out paperwork with client selections and inputs in computer systemReceives and makes calls on a multi-line phone systemCommunicates with clients and veterinary clinicsCalculates and processes paymentsFiles recordsDrives to local veterinary clinics as needed;1-3 times per weekPicks up deceased pets from clinics and occasionally at client residencesDelivers cremated remains to local veterinary clinics and funeral chapelsCreates keepsake items such as ink and clay printsCremates pets of various sizes 2-3 days per weekPerforms weekly maintenance of cremation retort machinesActively participates in cross training of other roles in the department including courier and crematory operatorThis is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the essential functions or duties related to this job

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/License

Valid state driver’s license in good standing with auto insurance

Experience

Two (2) years of customer service experienceOne (1) year merchandising experienceOne (1) year with death care industry preferredOne (1) year working in a veterinarian clinic/office preferred

Ability to handle unforeseen challenges while being creative, empathetic, accommodating and calm in a death care environmentPossesses a high degree of honesty, integrity, and reliabilityAbility to communicate in an organized and thorough mannerAbility to maintain a favorable and upbeat disposition for grieving families and contribute towards team moraleProficient in Microsoft Office preferredAbility to travel locally as neededAbility to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, and up to 200 pounds with assistanceAbility to work in extreme temperature variancesComfortable handling deceased pets in various conditions
