**Job Description:**
We are currently seeking a Project Manager to support a wide variety of nationwide environmental projects, with a focus on PFAS-related projects. This candidate will provide project management services to federal, state, and municipal agencies and industrial companies, focusing on design and implementation of PFAS treatment technologies for water, wastewater, leachate, groundwater, and soil. This candidate will also support ongoing research and development in site characterization, remediation, and treatment strategies and technologies, and support CDM Smith’s marketing and business development related to leading-edge PFAS characterization and treatment. Additionally, the candidate will support projects to transition from the use of Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) to fluorine-free products at airports and industrial facilities. The preferred candidate has demonstrated experience with managing and/or technically supporting PFAS, AFFF, and airport-related projects .
As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
• Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing several large and important projects or a project of major scope and complexity.
• Creating and driving scope, schedules, budgets and objectives for projects. Preparing detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures. Clearly communicating project deadlines, assignments and objectives to project team members. Assigning work and providing direction to project staff with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives.
• Conceiving, planning, and conducting research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity.
• Working with local and national technical teams and professional staff in the areas of site characterization, engineering design, PFAS treatment, and emerging contaminants.
• Directing the project work of multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and scientists, geologists, designers, draftsmen, and technicians to successfully design and implement innovative technologies.
• Maintaining liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization
• Communicating directly with clients and/or agency stakeholders.
• Acting as a mentor for employees your junior.
• Acting independently on technical matters pertaining to your specialty field.
• Leading engineering design staff for environmental projects, including preparation of drawings, specifications, calculations, and other design deliverables, and developing operation, maintenance, and monitoring plans.
• Leading studies to evaluate and document potentially feasible treatment alternatives and applicable technologies to address PFAS contamination and/or to evaluate the effectiveness of innovative PFAS treatment technologies and applying these findings to develop treatment alternatives for projects
• Leading and supporting PFAS Site Remediation, AFFF transition, and other remediation projects, with focus on the proper application of technology related to characterization and remediation, growing our technical capabilities within the discipline, fostering staff development, and assisting in sales.
• Support marketing and business development efforts related to PFAS site characterization and treatment.
• Ensuring that firm policies and required practices are followed in all project work.
• Learning project management techniques and the CDM Smith management system.
• Performing other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
Bachelor's Degree. 4 years of related experience. PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list). Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license or registration as a licensed Professional Geologist, as certified by ASBOG, within the resident state. Other professional certifications for Environmental Scientists will also be considered.
• This position is best suited for an individual that is excited to develop experience across a range of managerial and technical skills.
• Experience with supervision and mentoring of junior engineers and scientists in environmental remediation and in construction management is preferred.

**Skills and Abilities:**
• Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning and scheduling, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Demonstrates good communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities.
• Work requires verbal skills, ability to interact with varying levels of staff, as well as vendors.
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Ability to deal with many people and process a large volume of requests as necessary.
• Good personal computer skills including advanced knowledge in the use of MS Word and Excel.
• Demonstrates organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
