Responsibilities include O&M and capital budget preparation and reporting, cash flow management, and financial analysis and reporting. Individuals in this role oversee the annual budgeting process, monthly re-forecasts, and month-end close for major components, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. They also drive continuous improvement in spending, risk management, and costing methods in alignment with corporate policy and business objectives. In this role of **Business Services Leader** for a major components individuals will play a crucial part in managing budgets, enhancing cost efficiency, and mitigating risks to achieve financial goals. The primary responsibility is to oversee the financial performance of major components, implementing strategies to optimize costs, streamline processes, and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines while maintaining operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with business services and central maintenance personnel, providing analytical support to the business unit, and working across functions to report outcomes and identify opportunities for achieving financial objectives. + Coordinate annual budgets major components. + Travel is estimated to be 10% of the time to support our team in the field. + Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and identify cost-saving opportunities. + Conduct budget and forecast analysis, comparing to original budgets or prior forecasts. + Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to present findings and drive total cost decisions. + Extract, organize, analyze, and distill data into actionable insights. + Manage internal controls processes and identify/control weaknesses. + Collaborate with finance teams to forecast financial trends and mitigate risks. + Identify cost-saving opportunities across central maintenance. + Track effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives and adjust strategies as needed. + Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with major components. + Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders, providing updates on budget performance and initiatives. + Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and operational enhancement. + Perform various ad hoc financial analyses as required. **Job Overview** This job leads technicians and analysts in assuring execution of the Corporate and NextEra Power Generation business processes. Employees in this position also focus on the continuous improvement of spending, risks and opportunities, and costing methods in accordance with corporate policy and business objectives. **Job Duties & Responsibilities** • Performs all cost accounting activities including variance analysis, standard cost development, activity-based costing, and inventory control • Provides financial leadership by supporting Operations leadership in decision-making and strategy development • Supports new lines of business and finds ways to reduce overhead cost per job • Provides reporting and analysis for all operations activity including productivity, capital and overhead spending, forecasting, budgeting, absorption, sales, and inventory and operations planning • Prepares and distributes financial reports and indicators and explains financial results to non-financial audiences • Communicates and explains operational performance through P and L • Collaborates effectively with colleagues from all departments • Leads and executes process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles • Manages internal controls processes and identifies and mitigates control weaknesses • Extracts, organizes, analyzes, and reports data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions • Develops broad technical and communication skills through self-study and internal and external training opportunities • Performs other job-related duties as assigned **Required Qualifications** • High School Grad / GED • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience • Experience:5+ years • Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years **Preferred Qualifications** • None NextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
