What you will do

Seeking an experienced researcher to support the ABS credit research team within the public and private Securitized Products group of PGIM Fixed Income ($118bn assets under management). The successful candidate will work closely with the ABS research and ABS portfolio management teams to help formulate ABS strategy and help monitor the ABS portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing transaction collateral, assigning internal credit ratings, reviewing transaction documentation packages, communicating with investment banking teams, working closely with portfolio management and other internal colleagues to determine investment suitability and relative attractiveness, conducting surveillance on existing investments, and following industry trends.

What you can expect

Collaborate with the consumer, esoteric and/or commercial ABS / ABF research Principals to underwrite new issue and secondary investment opportunities

Create and maintain models and visualization tools utilizing various programming languages and technology

Assist in performing due diligence on issuers via conference calls, roadshow meetings, and on-site due diligence trips

Contribute to ESG reviews and help determine the proprietary ESG Impact score

Assist in the ongoing monitoring and analysis of portfolio positions to assess credit risk, credit ratings stability, cash flow volatility, portfolio positioning and trading opportunities

Work closely with various internal and external parties to understand and maintain our risk and analytics

Provide support for presentations to prospective and existing PFI Clients

Present investment opportunities to Structured Product ABS portfolio management and trading teams

Build and maintains relationships with sell side firms to source opportunities

What you will bring

BA/BS degree (MBA, MS and/or CFA are pluses)

Candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in consumer, esoteric and/or commercial ABF / ABS markets

Understanding of database structures and ability to query databases

Solid capabilities in fixed income mathematics

Comfortable running bonds through Intex

Knowledge of SQL and Tableau a plus

Prior experience generating collateral performance assumptions, evaluating credit risk and/or negotiating deal terms

Familiarity with ABF/ABS issuers, intermediaries, and investors

Works well as part of a team and enjoys a fast paced, high intensity environment

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $165,000 to $175,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
