Job Title: PharmacistJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented pharmacist with extensive knowledge of independent pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of revenue generation, audit threats, and documentation requirements. You will be responsible for managing acquisition costs, tracking inventory, and working closely with doctors to develop therapeutic options. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze data trends to identify new revenue opportunities. Experience in the acquisition, protection, and revenue generation for pharmacies is essential. Responsibilities + Manage and oversee daily pharmacy operations. + Track inventory, including sources and types of purchases. + Collaborate with a unit handling purchasing at set prices. + Develop therapeutic options with doctors that benefit both patients and the pharmacy. + Analyze data trends to identify new revenue opportunities. + Recommend therapeutic changes that benefit patients and the pharmacy. + Build and maintain positive relationships with patients and doctors. + Handle insurance prior authorizations. + Practice reentering insurance coding and inputting in January. + Ensure all tasks are completed, including opening/closing duties, checklists, and price shopping with wholesalers. + Fill an average of 100 prescriptions per day. + Work with 7-10 secondary wholesalers for medications. + Talk to doctors about getting conversions of NDCs (national drug codes). + Basic compounding required; no sterile compounding. Essential Skills + Strong attention to detail. + Knowledge of independent pharmacy operations and revenue generation. + Familiarity with governing bodies and insurance companies targeting high-margin medications. + Experience in acquisition, protection, and revenue generation for pharmacy. + Excellent communication skills for interacting with doctors and staff. + Understanding of NDC changes. + Ability to manage acquisition costs and negotiate with wholesalers. + Basic negotiation skills. + NJ Pharmacist License. + 1+ years of experience in independent pharmacies. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Business savvy with the ability to look at the profitability of a pharmacy and determine how to increase it. + Prior authorization experience. + Customer service experience. + Retail pharmacy experience. + Pharmacy management experience. + Preferred knowledge of BestRX or other documentation systems. + Prefer 3-5 years of experience as a pharmacist. Work Environment The pharmacy is located in a supermarket, serving primarily Medicare and Medicaid patients. Shifts are Mon-Fri 10:30 am - 6:30 pm and Saturdays 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. If working a weekend, you will get a weekday off the following week. You can choose to sit or stand during your shift, with no lifting requirements. You will typically work with 2-3 staff members, focusing solely on filling medications. Scheduling is handled by Maikee, and pharmacy technicians handle most customer interactions.
