PharMerica is seeking a highly capable and motivated individual to join our team.  PharMerica is a non-retail pharmacy that focuses on providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide. 

This position will provide the opportunity to grow your pharmaceutical skills under the direct guidance of a state licensed pharmacist while providing essential care to our patients in our closed-door pharmacy.  Our organization is in high growth mode, which can provide opportunities for advancement for individuals looking for career progression!

 

Schedule:
Wednesday - Friday
10:00am - 6:30pm 
8hr with rotating Saturday 9:00am - 5:30pm

Responsibilities Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Makes recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and facility staff as appropriateMaintains patient/resident database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including over-the-counter and home remedies)Ensures that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring certain high-risk conditions are ordered, evaluated and discussed with appropriate members of the healthcare teamCollaborates with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as neededDocuments all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the healthcare team and patients/residents and their family members in the medical recordImplements policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biologicals, as well as disposal of drugsObtains, as necessary, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and policyInforms the Pharmacy Manager of medication related errorsAssists facility/agency staff personnel with procedures relating to safe and effective methods of procuring, maintaining, administering and disposing of drugsPerforms other tasks as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D preferredOne year experience in long-term careLicenses/Certifications: As required by government regulations and business needsDetail oriented; goal oriented, team player, oral communication About our Line of Business Amerita is a specialty infusion company focused on providing complex pharmaceutical products and clinical services to patients outside of the hospital.
