Job Title: Pharmacist 1Job Description
The primary role of the Pharmacist 1 is to conduct final PA reviews. The pharmacist ensures compliance with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration. This includes monitoring nursing unit inspections, maintaining records for controlled substances, removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory, supervising support personnel, maintaining current registration, and staying informed about existing and new legislation to advise management on necessary actions.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct final PA reviews.
+ Ensure compliance with state and federal drug laws.
+ Monitor nursing unit inspections.
+ Maintain records for controlled substances.
+ Remove outdated and damaged drugs from pharmacy inventory.
+ Supervise the work results of support personnel.
+ Maintain current registration with the state board of pharmacy.
+ Study existing and new legislation related to pharmacy practice.
+ Advise management on needed actions based on legislation changes.
Essential Skills
+ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree.
+ Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state of residence.
+ Experience with prior authorization processes.
+ Proficiency in data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Pharmacist license in OK, IN, KS, PA, GA, or NM.
+ Experience with Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, requiring a dedicated workspace at home. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with rotating weekends.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00
