To learn more about us, visit empowerme.com. Responsibilities The Pharmacist is a licensed pharmacist who has accepted increased legal responsibilities in the day-to-day management of a pharmacy. The Pharmacist is responsible for the supervision all pharmacy personnel i.e. registered pharmacists, registered pharmacy technicians and ancillary pharmacy personnel. This supervision includes, but is not limited to, those issues regarding compliance with pharmacy law including prescription and controlled substance handling, labeling, dispensing, controlled substance inventories, legend drug and controlled substance record keeping. Pharmacist should review the pharmacy law concerning PIC duties found in 220-2.090 and any future amendments that update this regulation. Pharmacy Law mandates the Pharmacist to maintain a licensed pharmacist on duty when there are prescriptions being compounded, dispensed or sold. He/She is responsible for all employed pharmacist's licenses and pharmacy technician registrations to be displayed in the pharmacy in a conspicuous location. He/She must verify prescriptions prior to dispensing if there is authenticity suspicion or excessive requests for controlled substances. The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for maintaining proper control and security over the prescription medications at all times, including restricting all traffic in prescription area to pharmacy personnel. The Pharmacist must maintain and have on file the required reference library and equipment, keep the pharmacy in a clean and sanitary condition, post signage when a pharmacist is not on duty, keep all Missouri and federal licenses up-to-date, and maintain appropriate policy and procedure manuals. The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) will report any changes in PIC, pharmacy permit transfers, and pharmacist's own address as it appears on his/her license. Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary by location. On-Call nights, holidays, weekends (rotating) Responsible for providing employees with timely, candid and constructive feedback; developing employees to their full potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments. The Pharmacist must ensure all technicians working at lnfinium are registered. (Every person who assumes a supportive role in assisting a pharmacist or who has independent access to legend drug stock on a routine basis is considered a pharmacy technician and required to register with the Board of Pharmacy) The Pharmacist is required to maintain a current written list of all personnel employed as a pharmacy technician Travel up to 25% of the time. Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
