As part of the health care team, practices Pharmacy as a knowledge-based clinical profession, and integrates patient-oriented services with traditional distributive and drug control activities. Provides pharmaceutical services including drug information to nurses, physicians, and other health care providers. Advises the same with respect to drug interactions, contraindications and other relevant information to ensure optimal and safe drug therapy. Serves all patients to include, but not limited to, neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

 

Pharmacist to staff 2 different surgery satellites servicing a total of 28 ORs. The pharmacist is expected to comply with and understand USP 797 sterile compounding guidelines, oversee pharmacy technician duties in the surgery area, dispense medications to several interdisciplinary teams of medical professionals including anesthesia, nursing and surgeons; answer drug information questions regarding medications used in surgery according to Northside Hospital policies and procedures, attend codes in the surgery areas, perform narcotic reconciliation processes and clinical duties including pharmacokinetics, renal dosing, etc. in regards to medications used during the perioperative phase.

 

Hours are 530am-630pm and every 4th weekend requirement in the Main Pharmacy. 

REQUIRED:
1. Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

PREFERRED:

1. One (1) year of previous hospital pharmacy experience.

2. Experience in Retail Pharmacy practice.

3. Good communication skills.
