In this role, there will be the opportunity to –

Interpret and evaluate physician orders and prescriptions, ensuring accurate preparation, calculation, and dispensing of appropriate medication dosage forms for both inpatient and outpatient treatments, in compliance with relevant regulatory standards. Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately, contributing to patient safety and helping to minimize the risk of medication-related harm. Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements, adhering to therapeutic interchange protocols, and promoting evidence-based, rational drug therapy selections. Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records, ensuring accurate identification of allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications while entering orders and verifying medications. Organize daily operational duties and assist in the supervision of pharmacy technicians, aides, student interns, and other ancillary personnel, ensuring efficient and effective pharmaceutical care delivery. Adhere to regulatory requirements and professional standards of practice, ensuring compliance with hospital quality management policies and procedures in all aspects of pharmaceutical care. Communicate effectively with physicians and nurses to promptly clarify unclear, illegible, or incomplete orders, facilitating optimal medication therapy and minimizing potential medication errors. Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students, promoting continuous learning and enhancing clinical knowledge within the healthcare team.
