This role provides cross-training across all pharmacy areas, utilizing state-of-the-art pharmacy automation and fully compliant USP compounding areas with advanced IV room technology. In this role, there is the opportunity to - + Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication in compliance with regulations. + Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately. + Sustain formulary management by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug selection. + Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications. + Organize daily tasks and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians, aides, and interns. + Adhere to regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital quality management policies. + Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear, illegible, or incomplete orders. + Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and students. + Utilize computer systems and technologies to deliver pharmaceutical care. + Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic technique in a sterile environment Required + Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy + B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree + Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + Pharmacist + Act 34 **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
