Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shift. You will ensure proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed. Your responsibilities will include final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection of finished products, and providing proper directions for use. You must be willing and able to train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding. Additionally, you will participate in the shipping and handling of prescription orders as needed. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.
ResponsibilitiesOversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shift.Ensure proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed.Perform final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection of finished products, and proper directions for use.Train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding.Participate in the shipping and handling of prescription orders as needed.Essential Skills1 - 2 years of experience as a Pharmacist, ideally in a retail or hospital setting.PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.Order verification and prior authorization experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks.Strong time management and organizational skills.Flexibility and proactivity in meeting varied patient and company needs.Self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills.Forward thinking and planning abilities.Ability to accept feedback, ask questions, and delegate tasks.Proficiency in building and fostering professional relationships.Additional Skills & QualificationsIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and The Compounder (PK software product).Knowledge of QS-1 software is preferred but not required.Ability to use standard office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines, and telephones.Knowledge of 3rd party billing.Work Environment
You will be working within a closed-door specialty pharmacy that is temperature controlled. Shifts are Monday to Friday with Saturday rotations. Two shift options are available: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
