Job Title: Pharmacist
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Pharmacist to join our team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, directing other pharmacy employees, and dispensing medications. Additionally, the Pharmacist will provide counseling to nursing facility staff on medication use and general health topics.

ResponsibilitiesReview prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.Direct other pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changes to prescription orders.Ensure the accuracy of prescription order intake and the efficient fulfillment of orders.Dispense medications and provide support/counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.Advise physicians about medication therapy and counsel nursing facility staff on general health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress management.Provide information on products such as durable medical equipment or home healthcare supplies.Essential SkillsPharmacy experiencePrior authorization knowledgeCompounding skillsPharmacist licenseRetail pharmacy experienceBachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacyPharmacy License in the State of MinnesotaWillingness to obtain licensure for multiple states as requested by the General Manager2 years of experience in a retail environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsLeadership abilities to coordinate multiple associates and provide directionProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or other Windows-based software programsLong-term care pharmacy experience as a Pharmacist preferred but not requiredWork Environment

The work schedule includes a rotating shift where the Pharmacist will work a week of each of the following shifts on rotation: 7:00 am - 2:30 pm, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, 10:30 am - 7:00 pm, and 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Additionally, the Pharmacist will work 2 out of 7 weekends: one weekend from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm and another from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. Training will rotate through the different shifts during the initial 4 weeks. Once converted to a permanent employee, there is a 90-day waiting period before being eligible for paid time off (PTO), although unpaid time off can still be taken during this period.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $65.00/hr.
