The Pharmacist dispenses prescription medication along with key information such as side effects, contraindications with other medicines, and a range of other concerns. They also walk customers through their physician’s dosage and usage instructions to ensure medications are safely and effectively consumed.Duties & Responsibilities:
Works with pharmacy manager to meet area specific goals and goals of the department.Establishes collaborative pharmacist/patient relationships.Ensures that all applicable Federal and State regulations are followed.Preceptor for pharmacy interns.Participates in training and development for other pharmacists, technicians and interns.Performs effective drug utilization review.Provide accurate verification of medications.Provides counseling to patients on the proper use of their medications, possible side effects and the role of prescribed medications in the overall therapeutic care plan.Oversight of the prescription processing workflow including labeling and proper and safe storage of drugs.Accurately dispenses controlled substances in accordance with the MA and Federal laws.Participates in risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) compliance and monitoring.Other Duties & Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
EDUCATION: BS degree in Pharmacy required. PharmD degree helpful. Valid license to practice as pharmacist in MA. Obtain CE credits needed for license renewal as required.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of contemporary outpatient pharmacy systems, general clinical knowledge and expertise in traditional therapeutics and patient centered care, excellent comprehension of written policies and procedures, Ability to make appropriate decisions, develop and complete follow-up actions, Ability to motivate and direct staff, Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), Attention to detail or organizational ability, Effective writing, presentation and problem-solving skills, Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, Computer literacy, English proficiency
