The Pharmacist, Clinical Specialist Oncology (PCSO) is responsible for: providing quality patient care in relation to the patient’s oncologic/hematologic diagnosis, prescribed treatment, age group, and other identified needs; providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology/Hematology patients to assure safe and effective drug therapy.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Responsibilities
· Interprets, reviews and evaluates inpatient and outpatient oncology/hematology or other chemotherapy related patient medication orders.
· PCSO utilizes all Pharmaceutical Standards for Sterile Compounding. Assures timely compounding and dispensing of patient specific medications.
· Develops and maintains clinical practice in oncology/hematology, cooperating with medical and nursing personnel to optimize the pharmacotherapeutic aspects of patient care.
· Participates in supervision of the operations of the Cancer Treatment Center (CTC) satellite Pharmacy.
