Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. The Pharmacist will review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine the necessary formulas and ingredients. The role involves compounding sterile and non-sterile medications, managing pharmacy employees, and providing support and counsel on medication use.

ResponsibilitiesReview prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.Answer phone calls from nurses and provide necessary information.Direct other pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changing prescription orders.Ensure the accuracy of prescription orders and the efficient fulfillment of these orders.Dispense medications, counsel nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications, and advise physicians about medication therapy.Essential SkillsPharmacyPrior authorizationCompoundingPharmDRetail pharmacy experiencePharmacy License in the State of IndianaAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.Willingness to obtain licensure for other states as requested.Strong interpersonal skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Leadership abilities to coordinate multiple associates and provide direction.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or other Windows-based software programs.Long-term care pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.Flexibility and ability to lead a team when needed.Work Environment

The facility uses newer technologies and machines, housing 80-90% of drugs onsite, and offers a clinical setting experience. The company is growing and adding new accounts, promoting a family team culture and supportive work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $64.00/hr.
