As the PIC, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with all regulations, managing pharmacy staff, and delivering high-quality compounding services. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with strong leadership skills who is passionate about patient care and pharmacy management. **Job Summary:** The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) will be responsible for managing all aspects of the pharmacy, including regulatory compliance, daily operations, staff supervision, and quality assurance. This role requires a strong leader who can foster relationships with healthcare professionals, clinics, and hospitals while providing exceptional service to patients. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Regulatory Compliance:** 2. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing pharmacy operations. 3. Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications for the pharmacy and its staff. 4. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards. 5. **Pharmacy Operations:** 6. Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including inventory management, prescription processing, and customer service. 7. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all pharmacy activities. 8. Manage the pharmacy budget, including financial planning and cost control. 9. **Staff Management:** 10. Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel. 11. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff members. 12. **Compounding Services:** 13. Ensure all compounding activities conform to USP standards (USP 795 for non-sterile, USP 797 for sterile). 14. Prepare a variety of compounded medications, including specialty sterile prescriptions, pain management medications, ophthalmic products, and more. 15. Oversee the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, including managing antibiotic admixtures and other specialty medications. 16. **Quality Assurance:** 17. Develop and implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve pharmacy services. 18. Investigate and resolve any medication errors or discrepancies. 19. Ensure safe and proper storage of medications and maintain accurate records. 20. **Customer Service:** 21. Foster a positive and professional environment for customers and staff. 22. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively. 23. Promote health and wellness initiatives within the community. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution. + **Licensure:** Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Texas. + **Experience:** + Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sterile compounding environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. + Knowledgeable in USP 797 standards and Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) regulations. + Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. + Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. **Why Join Us?** This position offers the opportunity to lead a well-established pharmacy that has been serving the North Texas community for decades.
