Responsibilities

The Intern Pharmacist must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy with the expectation of becoming a pharmacist. The Intern Pharmacist will assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records. The Intern Pharmacist will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to perform: - The Intern Pharmacist will be trained initially to be competent in all aspects of a Pharmacy Technician. - Operational support functions such as billing/crediting controlled substance processing inventory control and training. - Distributional support functions including electronic profiling timely and accurate labeling and preparation of products in compliance with P&P/rules/regulations and daily operation/oversight of the Automated dispensing "Robot-Rx". - When appropriately trained assume the duties of a pharmacist under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. - When appropriate additional training will be initiated for training as a pharmacist.


Qualifications
Must have current California Board of Pharmacy Intern License.Must be currently enrolled in a School of Pharmacy with the expectation of graduating as a Pharmacist or BS in Pharmacy with application submitted for CA pharmacist license.Knowledge of Federal and State laws regulations and standards regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services.Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient's medical management plan.Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
