Coordinates and provides the pharmaceutical care of patients.

Reports to:  Director - Pharmacy 

Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.Drag Edit DeleteReviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.Drag Edit DeleteProvides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.Drag Edit DeleteDocuments interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.Drag Edit DeleteEvaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.Drag Edit DeleteMaintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy - RequiredDrag Edit DeleteMinimum Education
Doctor of Pharmacy - PreferredDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Licenses: State of Tennessee Pharmacist licensure - Required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 90 days of hire, if not current upon hire.
