Job Overview:

The critical care clinical pharmacist is responsible for providing direct clinical pharmacy services to the medical/surgical critical care units. Responsibilities included but are not limited to attend daily multidisciplinary rounds, provide assistance during medical emergencies, liaison between critical care units and the pharmacy department, provide consultation and drug information to the medical staff, provide in-service education to pharmacy, nursing, medical and non-medical staff, collaborate and conduct quality improvement projects that align with institutional and system goals, and represent Jersey City Medical Center in hospital and system-level critical care-related collaboratives,

Additional duties include precepting PGY-1 pharmacy residents and select holiday staffing rotation and order clarifications

Qualifications:

Required:

Completion of course at an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Pharm D.One year post-doctoral residency PGY-1 and prior hospital required

Preferred:

One year post-doctoral residency experience PGY-2 in the area of critical care medicine or emergency medicine is strongly preferredBoard certification in critical care pharmacy and ACLS certification are strongly preferred,

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Registration in New Jersey as a Pharmacist, New Jersey licensure required

Essential Functions:

They exercise considerable independent decision makingThe Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director of Pharmacy and Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services in the coordination and supervision of all clinical pharmacy activities in addition to the quality improvement and quality assurance activities relating to the provision of pharmaceutical careThe Specialist plans, organizes, analyzes, and compiles the facility s medication utilization programs as required and assists in the implementation of cost containment programsFurnish clinical information to physicians, pharmacy personnel, health care practitioners, and patients

Pay Range:

$ 58.39 minimum to $ 67.08 maximum Hourly Rate
