STATUS: Per Diem
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Inpatient Pharmacy
SCHEDULE: Flexible 4 hour shifts; Days and evenings
SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Apprentice supports pharmacists in delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining pharmacy operations, and ensuring the efficient distribution of medications. The role involves assisting customers, handling prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company policies.
ATTRIBUTES
At least 16 years old at date of hire
High school student with interest in pharmacy or health career
No experience required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and maintain accuracy
Basic computer skills and proficiency in data entry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Assistance. Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service. Answer questions related to medications, health products, and pharmacy services, directing customers to the pharmacist for detailed advice.
Prescription Support. Ensure accurate data entry and maintain up-to-date patient records.
Inventory Management. Monitor stock levels and restock shelves as necessary. Conduct inventory checks, remove expired products, and assist with ordering supplies and medications.
Administrative Tasks. Maintain organized and accurate documentation of prescriptions, patient information, and pharmacy transactions. Process payments, handle billing, and manage insurance claims when applicable.
Compliance and Safety. Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Collaboration. Work as part of a team, assisting pharmacists and other pharmacy staff in daily tasks. Participate in staff training sessions and ongoing development to stay updated with pharmacy practices.

14621The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
