Pharmacy Assistant
Job Title: Pharmacy Inventory Assistant
Job Description

The Inventory Assistant plays an integral role in the success of pharmacy operations. Receiving purchase orders (POs) in a timely manner and accurately putting products in the correct bin locations ensures patient safety, inventory accuracy, and exceptional customer service. The Inventory Assistant is responsible for unloading and breaking down pallets of products, sorting totes, and verifying all National Drug Codes (NDCs) against POs. They are expected to meet minimum production standards during put-away and must keep their work area clean and organized. Under the general supervision of the Inventory Manager or Inventory Leads, the Inventory Assistant maintains detailed records of received products and is required to report any overages, shortages, or miss-picks.

ResponsibilitiesPerform daily cycle counts when necessary.Verify paperwork with the total number of totes from the distribution center (DC).Identify and separate controlled substances.Unload products from the truck.Verify NDC and quantity of each item and reconcile it against POs.File and maintain all DC receipts and paperwork.Use a handheld scanner application to scan, receive, and reconcile incoming products. Manually key in received quantities.Assist with annual physical inventory.Apply mathematical reasoning to count, multiply, and calculate pack size.Log and report total put-away lines per hour daily, including total items received. Monitor daily performance.Report errors from DC such as miss-picks, shortages, overages, and damage.Perform weekly or monthly sweeps for short-dated and expired products.Rotate products on shelves following the first-in, first-out method (FIFO).Comply with all appropriate policies including the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA).Assist with the reverse logistics credit returns program - maintaining records, preparing, and scheduling shipments.Follow proper safety procedures and maintain a clean and efficient workspace.Essential SkillsPharmacy assistant license through the Department of Health (DOH) of Washington.Strong attendance.Motivated to learn new tasks.Attention to detail.Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsWilling to look for things to do if your station is slow.Punctuality.Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic healthcare environment.Work Environment

This role is in a closed-door pharmacy with no patient interaction or insurance data entry. The environment offers plenty of cross-training opportunities. The workspace requires adherence to proper safety procedures and maintaining a clean and efficient area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.95 - $20.95
