Pharmacy Benefits Management Contract Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) Compliance and Contract team at Mercer. This role will be based in Phoenix, AZ. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing clients’ PBM contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will assist in the negotiation process of contract terms, monitor legislative developments, and serve as an internal resource for educating colleagues on pharmacy regulations.

We will count on you to:
•    Review and analyze clients’ pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
•    Assist in the negotiation process of contract terms and provisions, providing support to the pharmacy strategy team.
•    Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting PBM contracting.
•    Prepare summaries and bulletins on contract terms, potential risks, and compliance issues.
•    Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, pharmacy financial team, compliance, and operations teams, to address PBM contract-related inquiries.
•    Assist in the development and implementation of training programs regarding state and federal regulations impacting PBM contracting.

What you need to have:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 5 years of relevant PBM experience, with a focus on contract reviews and analysis.
•    Strong understanding of pharmacy benefit manager operations and relevant federal and state regulations.
