**Description**
PeaceHealth is seeking a **Pharmacy Compliance Coordinator for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position.**
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $26.70 – $40.06.
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
**Job Summary**
Responsible for the oversight of PeaceHealth Pharmacy compliance policies and procedures as they relate to all products including controlled substances, sterile compounding regulations, drug purchasing regulations, and pharmacy accreditation and licensing. This work requires collaboration with other departments to coordinate programs and services which relate to pharmacy policy and procedures and contributes to the fulfillment of PeaceHealth's mission and values.
**Details of the Position**
+ Monitor and manage compliance policies related to pharmacy administration, which includes coordination of internal and external regulatory audits required to maintain accreditation and licensing.
+ Ensure organizational compliance of current DEA and State regulations regarding controlled substances, and current federal and state licensing regulations, as well as best practices in health system pharmacy. This includes ongoing and regular oversight of BD Analytic software for controlled substance diversion. This oversight will include follow up with nursing leaders about caregiver potential diversion, interface with the diversion team, and documentation of investigations of diversion and results. Assist pharmacy leadership in reporting diversion to the DEA, Pharmacy Commission, and the CEO. Work with nursing leaders to assure controlled substance discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Audit controlled substance purchasing monthly to assure that what was ordered was received and what was received was processed properly.
+ Work with various regulatory entities (i.e., State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission, DEA, DSHS, State Department of Health, ASHP, etc.) to gather information as requested for audits. Primary responsibility for completing yearly Pharmacy Commission self-inspection working with pharmacy leaders.
+ Support multiple applications, including 340B monthly audits and diversion detection and prevention audits. This will include a prescribed number of random caregiver-controlled substance audits each week.
+ Enter or delete Pyxis access codes for new hires and terms; submit to Pharmacy Director for approval.
+ Identify compliance issues, recommend and assist in implementing corrective action plans to improve performance outcomes and audit findings.
+ Oversee licensure of Hospital Pharmacy Associated Clinics (HPAC). This will include management of Power of Attorney forms for clinics and other areas that store and/ororder controlled substances and keep them updated including when new caregivers start and old caregivers leave.
+ Management of the Controlled Substance Pharmacy Safe (CII Safe) including monthly inventory (or delegation of inventory), and resolution of discrepancy issues found. Also including oversight of Biennial Controlled Substance counts.
+ Refrigerator/Freezer temp monitoring oversight. This will include the yearly calibrations necessary and assure compliance certificates are available for inspections.
+ Pharmacist and Technician competency compliance oversight and assure documentation is in place for inspections.
+ USP 797 & 800 compliance including completing training of Critical Point classes. Will need to keep all related competency paperwork up to date. Will help work with IV hood service company to assure 6-month certification in all sterile IV compounding rooms. Will assist with USP 797 & 800 staff compliance verification.
+ Will perform lead pharmacy technician duties when necessary. This will include continual training of technician staff regarding proper and involvement in Corrective action and retraining and follow up when necessary. Fill in various pharmacy technician roles occasionally in order to maintain knowledge base of the technician position or in the event of a severe staff shortage.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**What You Bring**
+ Associate degree: In a healthcare related field or comparable experience and expertise which provides the incumbent the requisite skills, knowledge and ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of this job may be considered. (Required)
+ Minimum of 5 years pharmacy experience to include experience with compliance reporting. (Required)
+ Education/experience with medical terminology. (Preferred)
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician - Washington (Required)
