Pharmacy Delivery Driver

Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Delivery Driver provides personal delivery of prescription or over-the-counter medications direct to the consumer.  The Pharmacy Delivery Driver also transports medications to other Burrell Pharmacy locations as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide great customer Service, ensuring each and all customers are at a minimum satisfied with the pharmacy service.

Efficiently deliver prescriptions and over-the-counter medications direct to the consumer or transport medications to other Burrell Pharmacy locations.

Maintain patient confidentiality with all pharmacy deliveries.

Create and maintain a delivery log to navigate city in a time efficient manner.

Keep accurate records of mileage for reimbursement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to drive 5-6 hours per day and make several stops while maintaining concentration, and deal with a variety of stressful situations including adverse weather, traffic, and deadlines

Understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions with retention.

Read and interpret detailed specifications.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Satisfactory driving record.

Supervisory Requirements: 

None.

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
