The Director of Clinical Operations Pharmacy Services is under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Enterprise, Acute Care and Infusion. This leader supports the objective of delivering safe, cost-effective and optimal medication therapy. They are responsible for overseeing pharmacy managers of pharmacy teams, clinical pharmacy programs, committees and other interdisciplinary groups involving pharmacy. They will collaborate with the acute care and infusion pharmacy leadership team, service line leadership, nursing, and medical leadership in support of optimal patient care. The director will coordinate all clinical pharmacy services and programs to help obtain desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, and effective medication therapies. This position oversees clinical pharmacy operations across the acute care areas of the UVA University Hospital, promoting standardization and advancing pharmacy practices. This position supports the education mission of UVA by precepting pharmacy residents and students.

Roles and Responsibilities
o\tDirector of Clinical Operations will be responsible for creating the vision and direction for clinical pharmacy programs and facilitating pursuit of best practices

o\tCollaborates with all levels of health care professionals to provide safe and effective care
o\tDevelops and leads proactive implementation of best practice guidelines, recommendations, and clinical decision support
o\tCollaborate with key service line leaders to support University Hospital patient care services
o\tParticipates in the development of policies and procedures related to oversight areas, clinical services, applicable pharmacy accreditation standards and compliance with federal and state rules and regulations
o\tDevelops talent and coaches peers and others to develop their capabilities
o\tHolds staff accountable for meeting external and/or internal customers' needs.

Position Compensation Range: $141,169.60 - $225,867.20 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Pharmacy degree required (Masters and/or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Master's degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer.
Experience: Minimum 3 years progressive experience in pharmacy practice and pharmacy management. Specialized residency training in pharmacy administration will be considered in lieu of experience.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
