POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Pharmacy Informatics will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing clinical information systems and workflows. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring the effective implementation and use of informatics solutions. The Manager of Pharmacy Informatics will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance system performance, improve clinical outcomes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
This position requires on-call responsibilities and on-site responsibilities (ex: On-site presence during go lives, rounding activities, select meetings/trainings, and as determined by request/need)
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required; Pharm. D. and PGY-2 Informatics preferred
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New Jersey required. Informatics certification preferred. Valid Driver’s License required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years informatics experience, plus a minimum of 1 year operational pharmacy experience required. Previous management experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Computer application experience preferred.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Operational Management and Support:
Assist in developing and managing clinical project schedules to align with enterprise and departmental strategic initiatives. Support leadership in driving the adoption and execution of clinical and operational strategy through collaboration with internal management and software vendors. Contribute to setting goals for clinical quality, safety, and operational integrity of information systems. Help standardize clinical content and ensure alignment with organizational strategy and best practices. Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies in collaboration with the Director to maintain alignment with advancements in the field. Support innovation by identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to problem-solving efforts. Aid in the planning and execution of major projects, ensuring they are implemented successfully and evaluated effectively. Effectively manage and lead a team of pharmacy informaticists and analysts to meet departmental and organization goals. Direct and supervise Tech Analysts in the maintenance and monitoring of pharmacy-specific solutions and hardware Manage active points of escalation for all for pharmacy technological issues that ensures coverage of all pharmacy operational hours, including on-call responsibilities Assist with training and competencies of pharmacy staff members on technological workflows Provide technological insights on medication system workflows and its impact on 340B systems during optimization of existing services or strategic planning of new servicesClinical Systems and Workflow Management:
Participate in cross-functional teams to analyze and redesign clinical workflows for improved system performance. Assist in evaluating and designing clinical systems to enhance patient care and outcomes. Work with senior clinical, administrative, and IT leaders to translate clinician requirements into effective system solutions. Support the management of systems related to quality outcome measures, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Maintain knowledge of clinical information systems to support ongoing strategic goals. Help develop and implement standards and guidelines for pharmacy practices. Ensure medication charges are processed accurately by maintaining medication system databases and system workflows that promote proper billing of medication-related chargesData Management and Analytics:
Assist in analyzing healthcare information and communication technology to improve care delivery and inform policy changes. Monitor and evaluate application functionality and usage, working with clinicians and staff to optimize performance. Provide support in clinical information systems and data management to aid in strategic decision-making.Maintain medication system databases to ensure cohesive integration of various pharmacy solutions into the medication workflows
Communication and Collaboration:
Build and maintain effective relationships with employees, vendors, and stakeholders to support project outcomes. Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to achieve unified goals and improve system effectiveness. Support end-user informatics programs, ensuring they meet organizational needs and foster technology adoption. Assist in developing strategies to support IT learning needs and promote a culture of continuous improvement.Compliance and Risk Management:
Support compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Help integrate professional standards and regulatory guidelines into EMR documentation and practices. Contribute to activities related to regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and survey readiness.Problem Solving and Decision Making:
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to address complex issues and develop actionable plans. Use analytical skills to define problems, gather data, and make informed decisions.General Duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment on an occasional basis, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires balancing, fingering, reaching, reading, driving, and speaking a majority of the time. This position works with such equipment as computers, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs. also required.
