Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacy Intern.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for acting as an assistant to a Licensed Pharmacist under direct supervision by filling medication cassettes, automated dispensing machines, compounding sterile and non-sterile products, doing shelf checks and performing general organization of the pharmacy. In addition, the intern may be called upon to assist in quality assurance/performance improvement projects and patient specific data collection.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned Demonstrates proficiency with unit dose drug distribution Demonstrates proficiency when repacking needed doses Demonstrates proficiency in Aseptic technique IV room procedures and USP standard Demonstrates proficiency in extemporaneous compounding on non-sterile products including capsule, ointments, oral/topical solutions and other kits Demonstrates proficiency with hospital information system Demonstrates proficiency with medication procurement, stocking and deliveries Assist with security Assists pharmacists with nursing station reviews, QA/PI projects when needed Demonstrates proficiency in patient specific data collection and review of medical records Demonstrates proficiency with the automated dispensing machines Answer telephone with courtesy and promptness Completes annual competency assessments Demonstrates knowledge of state and federal laws related to the handling of controlled substances

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma or the equivalent. Excellent communication skills. Enrollment or graduate of ACPE accredited college of Pharmacy or equivalent pharmacy intern permit.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $34.36 – $34.36 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
