Position Summary

The pharmacy intern is responsible for the safe and appropriate use of medications through the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care, under direct supervision of a pharmacist

Minimum Qualifications

Curretly enrolled student of an accrediited School of Pharmacy

Current applicable state Pharmacy Intern License (PHRM IN) required.

Current BLS required

Essential Job Functional

Control drug accountability and inventory managementAutomated drug distributionSterile products preparation and daily IV systems managementPerforms computer order entry, billing, word processingProductivity and workflow managementCompletes new admission medication reconciliationThe pharmacy intern will demonstrate knowledge of clinical pharmacy and apply this knowledge in performing clinical activities. All clinical activities will be performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and as appropriate to the intern’s level of education and experience. Clinical activities include those described in the staff pharmacist’s job description.
