Job Description:

The pharmacy student (intern) assists pharmacists to provide pharmacy services including the evaluation and input of licensed independent practitioner orders/prescriptions, and the technical functions of drug procurement, preparation, and distribution. These and all other duties are completed under the supervision of a pharmacist, but in this final phase of training. Expectation: Is proficient in pharmacy technical functions and the pharmacology and utilization of medications. An Intern at this level is expected to serve as a leader and mentor for other pharmacy Interns and technicians.

This is a PRN position. We ask for the intern to be available one evening shift per week (current hours are 1400-0030 but there is some flexibility with school) and one weekend shift per week (could be day or evening)

Must be a Pharmacy Intern II Summer/Fall of 2025.

Scope

As a Pharmacy Intern you will learn how to: Assist the pharmacist in all phases of drug distribution and monitoring. Fill orders and manage inventories for floor stock. Refill, exchange, charge, and credit medications. Compound IV mixtures according to policy. Fills orders and refill and stock medications for all departments and affiliates, including management of automatic dispensing units when assigned. Support the clinical functions of the department by assisting the pharmacist in retrieving data, screening profiles and doing calculations. Serve as a back up to other support positions. Complete assignments designed to compliment the academic learning requirements of pharmacy licensure and practice. Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current Student or recent graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.Licensure by the Colorado Board of Pharmacy as an Intern.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six (6) months of hospital pharmacy experience.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$18.81 - $27.32
