Pharmacy Manager, Outpatient Operations

 

The Pharmacy Manager of Outpatient Operations is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations and execution of pharmacy initiatives across the outpatient and ambulatory pharmacy service line and the healthcare system. This position also ensures standardization of systems and consistency of outpatient pharmacy services across the organization.  Such systems include, but is not limited to regulatory adherence, medication use monitoring, controlled dangerous substance oversight, payroll, workflow, and performance improvement. This position will oversee pharmacy compliance with state and federal laws and regulations as well as accreditation requirements, maintain adequate staffing and oversee all outpatient pharmacy operations accordingly. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and patient safety.

 

The Pharmacy Manager of Outpatient Operations will serve as designated pharmacy compliance officer to their area with responsibility of overseeing the compliance of programs including, but not limited to monitoring implementation of compliance programs, tracking applicable laws and regulations, compliance auditing, responds to detected risk, problems and incidents related to regulatory compliance, investigating and completing risk mitigation to prevent future occurrences of regulatory and safety issues/concerns, ensuring internal alignment with all applicable requirements, and investigating compliance issues. 

 

The Pharmacy Manager of Outpatient Operations will also serve as the Specialty Pharmacy Senior Clinical Representative qualified to perform clinical oversight and guidance and is responsible for decision-making aspects of Specialty Pharmacy programs. This position facilitates, develops, implements and manages all activities and projects regarding the overall operation of pharmacy services.  This position ensures effective recruitment, scheduling, policy and procedures, competencies and employee relations within the Pharmacy Departments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy or bachelor's degree in pharmacy required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Current license in the State of New Jersey as a Registered Pharmacist required.

EXPERIENCE:

5 years of pharmacy operations experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Excellent time management, organizational and team building skills required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential exists for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Requires the ability to work at a computer 60% of the time; requires some standing and walking. The department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool lists the essential functions of this position.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
