Selects, develops, and leads a competent team, holding the department accountable for achieving high-quality care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and enforces departmental policies and procedures.Aligns departmental goals with organizational objectives and ensures compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.Manages staffing, schedules, PTO, and timecards to ensure operational efficiency.Oversees pharmacy services, ensuring accurate preparation and distribution of medications. Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and disciplines staff to enhance productivity and satisfaction.Maintains a quality control program, including record-keeping for medications and controlled substances.Communicates effectively with staff, patients, and stakeholders to ensure safe medication practices.Provides training and in-service education for staff and hospital personnel.Participates in administrative meetings and keeps leadership informed of departmental activities.Oversees documentation, revenue reconciliation, and charge-error correction as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Leads, coordinates, and evaluates departmental staff in line with organizational policies and laws.
Requirements:
Education: Requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through the completion of the degree of B.S. in Pharmacy or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam.
Licensure: Current Licensure as a Pharmacist by the State(s) of Indiana.
Experience: Associate must have a proficiency in the practice of pharmacy with an emphasis in supervisory/managerial skills, pharmacokinetic monitoring, nutritional consults, and drug information services that is usually obtained from graduation of an accredited college of pharmacy or passing of a pharmacy foreign equivalency examination and two years of hospital/institutional pharmacy practice experience or completion of a pharmacy practice residency.
