Participates in operational tasks such as workflow oversight, process decision making, project implementation, and drug shortage management.Ensures and maintains quality control in regards to patient care and medication and equipment usage.Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.Advises prescriber of medication related issues and recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.Reviews, interprets, clarifies, enters, and verifies patient's information and medication orders for processing.Assists with health-system level decision-making, committee work, and decision making for relevant policies.Provides drug information support for pertinent drug information questions.Provides management support and demonstrates leadership.Manages and coordinates work activities for assigned practice area and provides feedback to staff regarding performance under the direction of the department director.Trains and mentors staff and residents and precepts students.Participates in interviewing and recommends selection of candidates. Triages issues to management and follows-up.Other duties as assigned.
