Physical Requirements This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens. Shift Hours will primarily cover day shifts with additional requirement to rotate weekends and holidays with staff. Hours of operation and location of service provided may be subject to change based on the needs of the service area. Job Summary This position provides opportunities to work in a fast-paced, challenging, diverse and rewarding environment. As an integral part of the healthcare team, the Meds to Beds technician will have a home base in the outpatient pharmacy and under the direction of a pharmacist will help coordinate, fill, and dispense prescription orders in preparation for discharge bedside delivery. Our Pharmacy Senior Technician I’s are key to identifying process improvements in the medication distribution process that align us with our quality improvement and safety initiatives. Competitive candidates will be able to effectively triage and communicate with patients, nurses and providers in order to minimize transition of care issues and delays in prescription access for patients transitioning from an inpatient stay to home. Assist pharmacist(s) with M2B prescription processing and distribution to patients/families within Chandler or Good Samaritan hospital(s); collect prescription and patient information required to process prescriptions under the direction of a pharmacist; deliver medications to patients; and collect payments using a point of sale system. Use of multiple computer devices and programs for adequate documentation are required. Other duties may include assisting pharmacist(s) in obtaining prior to admission medication histories; assess patient risk factors for adherence to prescribed regimens; review/enter patient allergies and triage medication related problems identified via communication with pharmacists, other providers, or patients. This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability, and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have one year of full-time (or pro-rated/educational equivalency) work experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
