Physical Requirements This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens. Shift Primarily dayshift hours with some early evening shifts in rotation. Hours to be discussed during interview. Shift, location and days of week covered subject to change based on needs of department. May include weekend and holiday rotations. Job Summary UK HealthCare is seeking compassionate, detail-oriented individuals who want to join our growing retail pharmacy team servicing UK HealthCare patients, students, faculty, staff, and community members. As a Pharmacy Senior Technician I, you will be front and center –interacting with our customers and developing strong patient relationships. You will use your skills and compassion in caring for our patients as an integral part of the healthcare team. The selected candidate performs basic pharmacy technician duties of filling, billing, and dispensing which includes processing prescription refills, renewals, and new prescriptions at patient facing or patient support phone stations as allowed by KY Board of Pharmacy law.

The Pharmacy Senior Technician I position requires the candidate to register with the KY Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire or on the first day on the job if previous registration has lapsed. Pharmacy Senior Technicians for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services will play an integral role in ensuring overall customer satisfaction and that a positive patient experience are achieved for all Chandler and Good Samaritan retail pharmacy patrons. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.  Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 1 year of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
