Pharmacy Supervisor - Customer Service Operations

What Pharmacy Customer Service Supervisor contributes to Cardinal Health

Oversees the work of a customer service team of Pharmacy Technicians that assist Pharmacists by entering medical prescriptions and answering phones. Monitors daily activities and manages work schedules to ensure that quality, production and customer service standards are maintained. May hire, train, and evaluate new employees

Shift: Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, oversee and coordinates the workflow of the pharmacy customer service department

Ensures adherence to all Board of Pharmacy, CMS and FDA standards

Sets the expectation for Leadership to include extra shifts on supervisors request for scheduled overtime

Assist in scheduling and evaluation of pharmacy technician

Ensure appropriate staffing during call-ins, inclement weather, or periods of increased workload

Assist in interviewing and hiring of pharmacy employees

Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed by pharmacy staff

Maintain effective communication with customers, co-workers and team members

Assist management with preparation and implementation of department policies and procedures

Ensure pharmacy customer service team meets all facility pharmacy mandated time frames and deadlines

Maintain employee files according to HR and regulatory standards

Provide or coordinate any education needed by pharmacy staff

Conduct/participate in regular meetings of pharmacy staff

Assist in preparation and implementation of pharmacy staff competencies

Assist Manager in retrieval of accurate, concise and applicable data to support creation of monthly reports and determine allocation

Supervises a staff of Customer Service Representatives that respond to requests from customers

Manages daily work load to ensure required service volume and quality levels are attained

Trains and coaches staff in standard policies, procedures, and best practices

Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and implements solutions

Monitors staff performance, listens to calls and provides feedback to agents

Collaborate with other departments to provide optimal customer and employee experience

Responsibility for interviewing, hiring and performance appraisals of team

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent

College experience recommended, Bachelors degree preferred

Minimum 1 year of leadership as a Certified Pharmacy Technician working in a retail, mail order, specialty, or hospital pharmacy environment

National certification preferred

Must be registered in the state of TN

Needs to be comfortable working in a closed-door pharmacy atmosphere.

Anticipated salary range: $66,500 - $94,900
