Job Summary:

Under the supervision and direction of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will perform duties as allowed by law to assist the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the safe storage, preparation, and distribution of medications. Technicians are responsible for maintaining the Pyxis distribution system, IV admixture, order entry, performing billing and inventory functions as well as other duties as assigned.


Essential Duties:

Procures and distributes medication on orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.Use aseptic techniques to perform IV admixture and maintain all aspects of the clean room environmentManage the Pyxis distribution system for maintaining stock and resolving issues.Performs unit inspections and intervenes to ensure that Pharmacy regulatory and patient safety practices are followed within and outside the Pharmacy.Maintains floorstock appropriately.Assists other employees with pharmacy and distribution related issues.Performs Unit Dosing and Starter Pack production functions according to policy and regulatory requirements.Reconciles Starter Pack prescriptions and files them in an accurate and timely manner.Replenishes and exchanges kits, carts and boxes as appropriate.
Qualifications

License/Certification:

Licensed by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Certified Pharmacy Technician, or alternatively must be eligible and have applied for a technician license by date of hire.

Experience:

Must be computer literate, specifically with Microsoft Office applications.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
