Job Title: Pharmacy Tech Department: Pharmacy Reports To: Pharmacist
Position Summary:
The responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician at South Central Regional Medical Center are to focus on assisting a licensed pharmacist with medication preparation, distribution, and maintaining inventory, all while adhering to strict policies and protocols. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to handle interruptions, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Filling and distributing medications accurately.
+ Assisting with inventory control and stocking pharmaceuticals.
+ Handling telephone calls and assisting at the pharmacy window.
+ Ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
+ Using the hospital's computer system for communication and documentation.
+ Maintaining proper records and adhering to safety guidelines.
+ Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist-In-Charge.
Essential Skill Competencies:
+ Ability to process medication orders.
+ Maintaining medication stock and contributing to the pharmacy's operation.
+ Ability to handle interruptions and adapt to changing work conditions.
+ Strong organizational skills and performance standards.
Educational/Regulatory Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; college courses preferred.
+ Registration with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
+ Valid driver's license.
Physical Demands:
+ Lifting, carrying, and occasional climbing.
+ Ability to work in various physical conditions such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Work Schedule:
+ 10-12 hour shifts, rotating weekends (every other weekend).
+ No on-call required.
