Pharmacy Hours: 7am-6pmShifts: 7-3:30pm, 8:30-5pm or 9:30-6pm includes 1/2 hour lunch unpaidWeekend rotation (every 3rd Saturday): 8:30-5pmMost shifts are located at Munson Medical Center 5 days per week, occasional coverage at Empire Pharmacy or Bayshore Pharmacy (9-5pm and 9:30-6pm)

Pharmacy technician trainees are trained to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technician trainees will be trained to work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Pharmacy technician trainees are trained to be a part of the first line to providing safe high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Pharmacy Technician License issued by the State of Michigan, by starting date required OR enrolled in MMC employer based training program. After one year full licensure will be required for continued employmentHigh school diploma (or G.E.D. equivalent), courses in chemistry and biology preferred.Knowledge of how hospitals operate and function is desirable.Basic knowledge of medications, medical nomenclature and ability to read physicians' orders desired.Typing - 30 wpm minimumMust have legible handwriting and/or printingNumerical comprehension and mathematical skillsAbility to communicate verbally, comprehend verbal instructions, and has good telephone etiquette.Good vision, manual dexterity, and physical ability to withstand the majority of shift moving around.Experience with on-line computer systems is desirable.General clerical skills.
