Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions, including IV, oral, and topical therapies. The technician is expected to be proficient at multitasking in a dynamic inpatient hospital environment. They will be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department, including triaging incoming phone calls, reviewing inventory reports, and maintaining daily logs. The technician will be responsible for medication restocking of Omnicell cabinets, as well as troubleshooting problems as they arise. They will also be responsible for receiving and restocking incoming supplies and prescription drug orders. They must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Directly reports to the technician supervisor, and ultimately the director of pharmacy.
Requirements:
Proficiency with Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets is preferred, but willing to train. High school diploma or equivalent required.Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.Currently licensed in the state of AK.
