Responsibilities The pharmacy technician specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of technician specialty practice areas (billing, diversion, automation, medication history, and others). They will provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality, and ensure policies and procedures are both documented and followed. Coordinates upgrade testing activities, and education, and serves as the subject matter expert for the technician specialty practice area. Does related work, as required and, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, mixing IVs, managing inventory, and assisting in pharmacy operations. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School graduate or GED. 3+ years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs). 1-year experience with identified specialty systems/processes. Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). Current BLS Certification. Preferred Job Requirements: Associates/bachelor's degree. PTCB/ASHP Specialty Credentials (applicable to the specialty practice area).
