What you will be doing
The Inventory Specialist at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for the procurement of pharmaceuticals, production supplies, and other supply needs at the site. This involves managing the Inventory Control Processes, as well as relationships with the primary wholesaler and other supply vendors. Working closely with the Procurement Team, the Inventory Specialist will also handle drug shortages oversight and execution and monitoring of pharmacy cost savings initiatives. This position will be responsible for leading Inventory personnel and ensuring that receiving/distribution complies with all relevant federal, including DSCSA, state, company guidelines.
The position will be based in Irving, TX. The shift arrangement is a first to mid-shift day shift typically on Sunday–Thursday with occasional Friday project work. A typical 40-hour workweek with occasional overtime is to be expected.
Main responsibilities
The inventory specialist has lead responsibilities under the direction of the site General Manager and Group Supervisor to manage the pharmaceutical inventory stocks. Place inventory orders with pharmaceutical wholesalers, 3rd Party suppliers, and follow up on shipments and deliveries. Receive, reconcile, and document all such shipments, communicating with the vendor as needed, as well as inter-store transfers. Analyze inventory and closely work with demand planning and forecasting. Assist with managing reorder points. Responsible for pharmacy asset protection techniques, including shortages and overages. Oversee appropriate reverse distribution, expired product handling, recalls and returns. Responsible for rotating stock and monitoring/managing aging products, including DSCSA. Manages out of stock issues to minimize production delays, while minimizing costs to carry. Manage storage areas for cleanliness and order, ensuring that the stock is prepared for the next day, while considering ergonomics and efficiency. Develop/implement new processes for improving efficiency, accurate counting, compliance, safety & costs related to inventory. Maintains accurate inventory counts; maintains the accuracy of on-hand quantities. Lead the inventory team in periodic audits and assist general manager in finalizing quarterly store inventory calculator after physical inventory counts. Suggest best practices/recommendations/improvement post audits. Guide and coach the inventory team personnel in their development. Develop, analyze, and maintain appropriate reporting documentation related to inventory management. Assemble related documents, training material and manuals. Provide inventory data to assist in workflow efficiency. Become a subject matter expert of the software application’s inventory module. Coach team to understand inventory system features. Ensure that all Inventory Goals and KPI’s are met. Works with production lead/group sup. in scheduling and cross-training identified production personnel to help with inventory receiving and other inventory-specific projects. Works as a within the licensure of a pharmacy technician if needed during production surges or inventory downtimes. See Pharmacy Technician job description for details. Required:
Pharmacy Technician License in Texas. Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.Preferred:

Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience. Prefers to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, phone work.) Previous supply chain or inventory control experience. Good computer skills. Good math skills.Physical Requirements
Willing and able to stand/walk at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation. Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Loading/unloading pallets with use of equipment including but not limited to, pallet jack, electric pallet jack. Visual focus such as counting, observing, etc. is required consistently.
