Explore the potential of your pharmacy experience in an elevated role. We are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician – Patient Care Advocate to join our team of health care professionals. As a Patient Care Advocated, you will communicate with patients and providers to schedule deliveries, assist with patient assistance programs, and enroll patients in Ardon services. Job type: Full-time Salary Range: $21.99 - $27.50 hourly, depending on experience. Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range. Position responsibilities: Acts as liaison between company, patients, and Physician’s office. Responsible for accepting new prescriptions and making sure all necessary information including insurance verification is available to process orders. Explains all company programs and services to patients and physician’s office staff. Communicates with patients as needed based on prescription refills and refers any medication or illness related questions or concerns to a board licensed healthcare profession including but not limited to: nurses, pharmacists, or supervised pharmacy interns. Responsible for scheduling prescription refills within the pharmacy software. Maintains documentation of calls to and from patients. Contacts patients to schedule deliveries, confirm address, inform of any co-payment involved and notify of payment responsibilities. Assists with prior authorizations. Refers under/uninsured patients to appropriate patient assistance programs and helps with applications. Communicates patient status to physician’s offices/clinics. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Utilize operating systems and tools to help manage patient therapy and refill compliance. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Ardon’s rules and regulations. Required skills: High school diploma or GED Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License. A Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License will be required prior to expiration of existing Oregon licensure or as required by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy. Our ideal candidate has: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively collaborate in a team setting. Proficiency in standard workplace software and/or information management applications. Prior experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting. Ability to navigate computer applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of pharmacy benefit investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance connection. Prior experience working with physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals.
