Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, requiring sound judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendations. This role will involve creating patient profiles, ensuring clinical accuracy of prescriptions, and communicating with providers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for updating progress notes and entering provider information accurately into the system. Responsibilities + Review contents of referral to ensure complete and accurate information has been received. + Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information. + Conduct initial check of prescription to ensure clinical accuracy for processing. + Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns. + Update concise progress notes to ensure other roles within the workflow can quickly assess the status of the referral. + Enter new provider information, such as National Provider Identifier, accurately into the system. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Current NC BOP certification, must be current without restrictions and in good standing. + 1+ years of pharmacy operation experience. + Experience working in a pharmacy setting. + Competence in basic computer skills. + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + Ability to effectively work with people. + Conscientious and detail-oriented. + Flexible and adaptable. + High School Diploma required. Additional Skills & Qualifications + NC Registered (NCBOP) . + Customer service skills. + Experience with data entry. + Healthcare experience preferred. Work Environment This position is based in a call center environment with no direct patient contact, all interactions are over the phone. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekends off. The office is closed for major holidays. During the training period, the shift will be 9am to 6pm on-site every day. After the training period, you will have the choice to work 10am-7pm or 11am-8pm.
